Virtual Professional Development OpportunitiesCASB Fall Regional Meetings are now underwayCASB's Fall Regional Meetings have been moved to a virtual format this year. CASB members will have the ability to collaborate in small groups with colleagues from neighboring districts, share ideas, and hear from CASB's knowledgable staff as they offer up-to-the-minute insights to help boards make sound governance decisions. Registration is free and we are looking forward to great participation!
Learn more and registerCASB Conversations Webinar: Title IX OverviewOn August 14, 2020, the final Title IX rules went into effect for districts across the country. In response to the changes, CASB released sample policies on July 17, 2020. However, these rule changes have an impact beyond policy that school board members should be aware of this school year. In this webinar, we will provide an overview of Title IX and discuss how the changes impact the process at the local level. Register HereCalling all Delegates — CASB Delegate AssemblyThe 2020 Delegate Assembly plays a vital role in helping CASB chart its advocacy course. Each member school board receives a vote through its Delegate at this annual event. This year's Assembly will be virtual and takes place on Friday, October 30, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Delegates will be required to participate in a practice session prior to the Delegate Assembly — details will be provided closer to the Delegate Assembly. CASB members who are not Delegates and wish to view the Delegate Assembly will have access to view the Assembly on the CASB website. To update your Delegate with CASB, please email [email protected] by Monday, October 5, 2020. Delegate-only RegistrationLearn more80th Annual CASB Convention registrationWe made the decision to go virtual this year due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and the health and safety impact it continues to have on in-person events. Even though our annual Convention will look different this year, you can count on the same high-quality board development CASB always delivers. The virtual platform will be engaging and immersive, while offering new opportunities to collaborate with your peers from across Colorado. A Pre-Convention will be offered on Thursday, December 3, and will include programs for Key People and the Business Meeting. The main Convention will be held on Friday, December 4, and Saturday, December 5. The preliminary agenda is available on our website. What you can expect this year:

For questions, please Nomination process for Superintendent of the Year is now openAASA, the School Superintendents Association, recently announced the opening of their 2021 program throughout the United States. For information about award eligibility and criteria, FAQ, past honoree information, and more, please click the link below. In Colorado we follow the process outlined by AASA and the final selection is made by a panel of previous Superintendent of the Year award winners, as well as other superintendent peers, to assure a geographic and district size balance. For your convenience, the nomination form will be completed online through the AASA website. Please click below to access the award webpage, register as a nominator, and complete the nomination form. The deadline to nominate a Colorado superintendent is Friday, October 2, 2020. The AASA website link in the paragraph above includes detailed information about how to complete a nomination and will walk you through that process. Because AASA oversees and facilitates this award, nominations must be submitted through their website and cannot be accepted by CASE.
