Join CASB members for our 81st Annual Convention. We are looking forward to getting together - in person - for great general sessions, amazing breakout sessions, awesome networking opportunities, exhibitors that will blow your socks off, a wonderful Student Leadership program designed with the guidance of students, and much, much more. We didn't have the ability to be in person to celebrate 80 years of CASB, but we will be in person this year to celebrate 81 years of providing support and services to our 178 school boards across the great state of Colorado!

CASB's 81st Annual Convention is 100% in-person. We are not offering a virtual component this year.

Convention materials will be available on our website to CASB members after the Convention.

Saturday afternoon has been updated this year to create space for board retreats. We ask that you schedule retreats during this time.

CASB Annual Convention Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be made in writing and received no later than November 4, 2021 and will incur a $100.00 cancellation fee for the full Convention registration and a $50 cancellation fee for the Key People registration. Cancellation refunds will be processed after December 6th, 2021. Refunds are not granted for failure to attend, late arrival, or early departure. CASB is not responsible for state or district travel restrictions, medical or weather-related cancellations, or for hotel or other costs associated with the convention if the registrant is unable to attend.

In the event cancellation is necessary due to a medical emergency, please contact CASB. You will have the option of substituting your event registration with another district member. Cancellations after the deadline and only due to medical emergencies are on a case by case basis. If approved, cancellation fees may vary based upon the date of the request and may not be offered closer to the actual event date.

Board Organizational Meeting Notice
Colorado's Open Meetings Law requires full and timely notice to the public when a quorum of the board is gathering and "public business is discussed or at which any formal action may be taken." C.R.S. 24-6-402.

If your board plans to hold a retreat or its organizational meeting, the meeting must be noticed, recorded, and open to the public as any other regular or special meeting.

One or more members of the [insert district name] board of education will be attending the Colorado Association of School Board's Annual Convention December 2-4, 2021. The purpose of this event is for board members to engage in professional learning--it is not to conduct public business of the local district or engage in formal action. While notice is not required pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402, the Board believes in transparency and therefore is providing this information regarding the event.

Continuing Education Credit

Continuing Education Credit Hours may be obtained through attendance in breakout sessions during our 2021 Fall Conference [or the 81st Annual Convention]. Please use this form to document your attendance at the specific breakout session. All sessions and times need to be documented. You will receive a certificate of attendance upon receipt of your completed form.

Masking while at the Convention

Per the updated State of Colorado and El Paso County guidelines, masks are not required to be worn indoors or outdoors, but are still recommended regardless of vaccination status. This applies to all Guests and Broadmoor Staff Members.

The Mask Mandate remains in effect during any public transit on all Shuttles/Vehicles to include: Hotel Proper, Wilderness, Seven Falls, Zoo, Cog Railway and Airport.
