 CASB 2020 Winter Legislative Conference materials now available to members
School board leaders from across Colorado attended the 2020 CASB Winter Legislative Conference last week. You can access the slides and other resources on the 2020 Winter Legislative Conference Recap page of the website. This is a members-only resource that requires login and includes the following resources:

Your feedback is valuable to our organization so that we can continue to provide not only high-quality events but also professional development opportunities that meet your needs as a school board member. For conference attendees, we ask that you take a few minutes to complete the General Conference Survey on the CASB mobile app. As a reminder, the steps to find the survey are below. We are providing a 3-week window for survey responses. The survey will close on Friday, March 27, 2020. In appreciation of your valuable feedback, three respondents will be selected and awarded the following prize:

 Support Public Education Day at the Capitol on March 11
Join Our Schools Our Community, a coalition of over 30 Colorado school districts and partner education associations, in celebrating Public Education Day on March 11. All CASB members are invited to attend and celebrate the outstanding things happening in our public schools, which serve more than 900,000 Colorado students.
The agenda for the day at the State Capitol in Denver is as follows:
- 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | Interactive Booths on the 1st floor
- 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. | Choir performances on the 3rd floor
- 9:00 a.m. | Students lead the Pledge in the House and Senate
- 9:30 a.m. | Public Ed Day Resolutions in the House and Senate
- 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | Students prepare breakfast on the 1st floor
- 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | Legislator photobooth on the 1st floor
- 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Mobile Innovation Lab at the West Steps
- 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Rally celebrating public education on the West Steps

 Census 2020 is right around the corner
The Census: It’s important. It’s easy. It’s safe.
Your kids count, so make sure they get counted through the census in Spring 2020! A communications toolkit is available for you to help you discuss with your communities the importance of the census. Schools are key to helping folks understand the importance of filling out the census information because teachers and school leaders are already a trusted source.

Coronavirus resources and information
This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation and these resources will be updated as new information becomes available. If you have resources you would like to make available for this website page, please send to [email protected].
The CASB website has information for school districts regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Health officials are currently taking steps to prevent the introduction and spread of COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”) into communities across the United States. School districts can play an important role in this effort.
Based on a recent request, we have added a few new resources to the page on E-Learning:
Through collaboration and coordination with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and local public health agencies, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), other education officials, and elected officials, districts can disseminate critical information about the disease and its potential transmission to students, families, staff, and community. Districts can also prepare to take additional steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19, should State and local health officials identify such a need.
