The Superintendent Evaluation Process

The responsibility to evaluate the superintendent's performance rests exclusively with the board. C.R.S. § 22-9-106(4
(b). The process is often laid out in the superintendent's contract and/or board policy and regulation. It is important to establish this protocol well before the board sits down to formally evaluate the superintendent.

CASB Consultants will facilitate the necessary steps boards must take in order to effectively evaluate their superintendent. We offer training in the following areas:

  • Assessing if the current evaluation is both fair and productive
  • Understanding the mechanics of a quality evaluation process
  • Guidance on creating measurable performance goals that encompass student achievement and more
  • Avenues for anonymous feedback from stakeholders, direct reports, etc.
