CASB Conversations Webinar: Your Social-Emotional Health — Wednesday, August 5 at 3:00 p.m.

School board members typically put themselves last in line when it comes to self-care. We are at a point in time where anxiety and stress are mounting for our school board members. It is critical for you to take care of yourself so that you can continue to take care of your district. Understanding the importance of maintaining your social-emotional health is key and as we learned from Rosalind Wiseman, CASB keynote speaker for the 2019 Convention, dignity is the root of social-emotional health.

There is a path forward in self-care and that path is grounded in the principle of dignity; our collective belief that each of us has inherent worth and our relationships with each other matter. Furthermore, dignity is the foundation for developing the skills and capacity to have difficult conversations with each other and successfully respond to any problem.

Join Cultures of Dignity Co-Founder’s Rosalind Wiseman and Charlie Kuhn for an interactive webinar to help you be better prepared to respond to parents and colleagues' concerns and equip you with tools you can immediately put to use.

CASB Connections Podcast: Coffee Cart Program

The Coffee Cart Program (CCP) is a job and life skills curriculum for high school special education students with the goal of helping each student seek, obtain, and retain employment after high school. It's a wonderful program bent on making sure students do not become one of the 80% of disabled adults that are unemployed. Julie Lang, Cotapaxi School District board member, attorney and founder of the Gus Belt Family Foundation and former CCP student, Victoria, share their insights on the success of this program.

Initiative 271— Fair Tax Colorado: Last week to sign and/or turn in petitions

With the Budget Stabilization Factor now over $1 billion and with the growing costs required to safely reopen our schools, the need for sustainable, adequate, and equitable funding for our schools has become even more imperative.

Initiative #271—Fair Tax Colorado will address this need...IF it makes it onto the ballot for November and is passed. As this weekend is the last big push for signatures, we want to provide you the link(click here) where you can:

  • find a location where you can drop off your petition
  • find a location where you can sign a petition
  • sign up to host a signing event (make it easy for others who want to sign a petition in support of this ballot initiative to find you)
