CASB Connections newest podcast focuses on a free coding program for girls in grades 3 – 5 and 6 – 12.

Girls Who Code Breaking Through the Computer Science Gap

Even though girls have been heavily involved in STEM programs the same isn't true for computer science. Girls Who Code clubs are changing that trajectory with their 3rd - 12th grade clubs, which are free, provide money, curriculum, support, and don't require a coding background for facilitators. This is a win-win program.

 Public Schools Week

Get Your Community Involved In Celebrating Public Schools Week
February 24 - 28, 2020

Next week is Public Schools Week, a designated week for administrators, teachers, specialists, teacher educators, parents and school board members to host events for their communities and reach out to lawmakers, businesses, and other community members to discuss the importance of public education.

Three easy steps you can take to support Public Schools Week:

  1. Share why you are #PublicSchoolProud on the social media.
  2. Help celebrate all that teams of public school educators do for our students. Shine a spotlight on the educators who are making an impact in your school district and post a photo or video to #PSW20 #PublicSchoolProud and #PublicSchoolsWeek.
  3. Talk to your school administrators and organize an event the week of February 20, 2020, where the school community can come together to celebrate the awesome students, programs and professionals whose hard work is going to strengthen the future of our country.
