** Professional development grant applications due Monday
The 2021-22 Early Literacy grant (ELG) professional development application is now open. Applications are due Monday, May 17.
This grant opportunity is geared to support Colorado educators in the implementation of scientifically and evidence based reading programming and strategies for kindergarten through third grade students. These funds are intended for early literacy professional development for elementary educators. This grant opportunity is designed to support Colorado educators in implementation of scientifically based reading research programs and strategies for K-3 students.

Educator Talent
Seeking peer reviewers of induction programs
The Educator Preparation and Support office seeks reviewers with expertise in supporting and developing new teachers, specialized service professionals (SSPs), principals, and/or administrators to help with the 2021 review of teacher, SSP, and principal induction programs. Peer Reviews will be held virtually over three days, June 14, 15, and 16. Reviewers can participate in as few or as many review sessions as their schedules allow. To register for the event, please complete the application. The application window is open through Friday, June 4.
District/BOCES staff submitting their own programs for review this year can participate as a reviewer. Team assignments will be made to ensure no reviewer is reviewing their own program.

School Climate Transformation grant submission deadline extended
The School Climate Transformation grant is extending the deadline for Local Education Providers to submit an application for funding to strengthen student engagement and family partnership strategies that are implemented through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Approximately $160,000 is available for four awards from Wednesday, July 21, to Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2023. The new deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 28. All application materials are available on CDE's website.

Apply for a P-EBT mini grant
CDE's School Nutrition Unit is excited to announce the release of P-EBT mini grants. This is a non-competitive grant that allows districts to be reimbursed for allowable administrative costs incurred during the delivery of P-EBT benefits. Districts must submit a detailed budget outlining all reimbursable costs; a budget template can be found within the application.
The May 2021 application closes on Monday, May 24. Only one application per SFA should be submitted.

Pandemic-EBT data collection is open
The P-EBT data collection re-opened in data pipeline on Wednesday, May 5. Sponsors can access the pipeline to upload needed student enrollment data for P-EBT benefit issuance.
The second data collection is due no later than Monday, May 31. Sponsors that did not submit during the first upload timeframe of April 23 should upload all enrolled students. Sponsors conducting the upload for the second time have the option to provide all student enrollment data again or can append records and only include updated or new student information.

Apply for the dyslexia working group
The application for positions on the dyslexia working group is open through Friday, May 28. The working group consists of 11 legislatively defined stakeholders appointed by the commissioner of education. Members serve on the working group for two years.
Open positions include:
- A parent of a child who is identified as having dyslexia
- An elementary teacher who teaches in a non-rural school district
- A principal who is employed at an elementary school in a rural school district or an employee of a board of cooperative services who has expertise as a literacy specialist
- A member of the local chapter of an international dyslexia association
- A state or national literacy expert
Most meetings will be conducted virtually throughout the 2021-22 school year. Members will be provided travel reimbursement and, if applicable, substitute cost reimbursement.

2021 Colorado Science Standards Implementation Institutes
2021 Colorado Science Standards Implementation Institues will provide opportunities for educators from across Colorado to learn about the recently revised Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) Science. These free learning experiences will serve as a launch point for educators across communities to connect as we work to implement the new standards across Colorado.
