Life Skills Training for High School Students

Apply for the grant from the University of Colorado Boulder that, as part of a research study, covers all costs to implement the Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) High School program, an evidence-informed social-emotional learning and substance abuse prevention curriculum.

Applications are due by January 31, 2022, and typically take less than 30 minutes. Awards will be announced in March 2022.

SCHOOLS RECEIVE (at no cost):

  • LST High School program materials including teacher manuals and consumable student guides.
  • Teacher training with on-site or online options, and stipends or substitute teacher reimbursement.
  • Supplemental resources and instructional guidance on integrating vaping topics.
  • Aggregated school-specific youth risk assessment data.
  • Financial incentives:
    • Fall 2022 schools receive $400 for administering student assessments across 4 time points.
    • Fall 2024 schools receive $1,000 for administering student assessments across 4 time points.
    • All schools are entered into drawings for $1,000 for completing the full study.

LST HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM INFORMATION:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete a brief online application by January 31, 2022.
  • Participate in research study that uses a lottery to randomly assign schools to implement in either Fall 2022 or Fall 2024.
  • Assist with administering in-class student surveys, regardless of implementation year.
  • Allow for fidelity-monitoring through lesson observations, feedback surveys, and a site visit.
