E.P.A.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing new rules to remove fluorescent lighting fixtures whose ballasts contain polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB). PCBs were banned in the 1970s, but the EPA estimates there are more that 1.2 millions such fixtures remaining in school buildings built before 1980. School districts will need to spend additional funds to retrofit or replace PCB-containing light fixtures. CASB will post additional information as it becomes available.
