CASB Leadership Updates

The CASB Board has been busy reviewing the Association’s bylaws in an effort to update and modernize this framework for the Association’s operations and governance. The bylaws are owned by the membership and can only be revised by a two-thirds majority vote of the delegates. Proposed updates to the bylaws will be explained and your input will be solicited.

The November election is right around the corner and the ballot will include several questions for voters with far-reaching implications. As a community leader, you are likely to be asked about many topics, which may include: approving expanded learning opportunities for young people; “de-brucing” the entire state; casino-style sports gambling; and increased taxes on oil and gas. We will cover the latest on these topics and more.

Resolutions That Impact Districts

Kathy Gebhardt, president, CASB Board of Directors and vice-president, Boulder Valley School Board
Matt Cook, director of public policy and advocacy, CASB
Resolutions passed at the Delegate Assembly become the foundation of CASB’s advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal levels.

During the 2019 legislative session, more than 15 bills were passed that directly addressed issues highlighted by CASB resolutions and many were a direct result of CASB resolutions. Your voice matters and carries great weight with elected officials.
